The So Danca BL116 Sparkle Low Heel Ballroom Dance Shoes prove that a comfortable dance shoe doesn't have to look sensible. A softly shaped closed toe, shimmering fabric and elegant low heel give BL116 a beautifully dressed-up appearance, while cushioned comfort and a full suede sole keep it firmly grounded in social dancing.
So Danca BL116 Personality
Polished • Sparkly • Reassuring • Occasion-Ready
BL116 is the dressed-up member of So Danca's low-heel family. The closed court-shoe silhouette feels refined and reassuring, but the textured sparkle fabric stops it from becoming overly traditional.
Silver Sparkle feels cool, bright and particularly elegant with cooler-toned outfits, while Gold Sparkle is warmer and softer with an almost champagne quality. Both catch the light beautifully without turning BL116 into a competition-style shoe.
So Danca BL116 Rachelle Low Heel Ballroom Dance Shoes – Design & Performance
The 1.5" shaped heel keeps the dancer close to the floor, providing a stable base for Ballroom movement and making BL116 particularly approachable for dancers who aren't comfortable in a higher heel.
Unlike the open-toe BL180 and BL198, BL116 uses a fully enclosed forefoot. That gives the toes more coverage and creates a traditional Ballroom court-shoe line - an important distinction for dancers who simply feel more comfortable when the front of the foot isn't exposed.
The soft sparkle textile upper gives the shoe its occasion-ready character without the stiffness of a heavily structured evening shoe. An adjustable strap crosses the instep to help keep the foot connected as you move, while the enclosed heel provides additional containment around the back of the foot.
Inside, soft cushioning through the lining and insole makes BL116 well suited to classes and longer social evenings. Underneath, a full suede dance sole provides the familiar balance of glide and controlled grip required for turns, travelling steps and traditional Ballroom movement.

Dance World Notes
Closed toe can make all the difference.
Not every dancer feels comfortable in a strappy sandal. BL116 keeps the toes completely covered while still looking distinctly like an elegant Ballroom shoe rather than a practice shoe.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
BL116 has a narrow-to-medium fit, particularly through the enclosed forefoot. Dancers with broader feet may find it noticeably closer than some of our roomier low-heel styles.
Narrow Feet
If your foot is naturally narrow, begin with your regular street-shoe size. The adjustable instep strap helps keep the shoe securely connected.
Regular & Wider Feet
For regular-to-wider feet, we recommend starting approximately half a size above your normal street-shoe size to give the enclosed forefoot a little more room.
Closed-Toe Check
Your toes should lie naturally inside the shoe without being compressed against the front. At the same time, avoid excessive length - the heel should remain securely seated during movement.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a starting point. Ballroom shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
