BL184 isn't trying to be the most structured or technical-looking shoe in the room. Its appeal is much simpler: put it on, feel comfortable and get on with dancing. The soft upper, elastic instep strap and low heel give it an easy familiarity that makes particularly good sense for regular practice and long hours in the studio.

The full suede sole gives BL184 the traditional floor response Ballroom and Latin dancers expect from a practice shoe, providing enough glide for turns, pivots and travelling movement while maintaining controlled contact with the floor.

Above it, the soft suede-look microfiber upper has considerably less structure than a leather Oxford-style practice shoe. It moves easily with the foot and is paired with cushioning through the upper and sole, which helps explain why BL184 has become such a comfortable choice for extended wear.

Instead of laces or a buckle, a wide elastic strap crosses the instep. It makes the shoe exceptionally quick to put on while holding it securely against the foot - particularly useful for teachers or dancers who are constantly changing between shoes.

The 1.5" / approx. 3.8 cm tapered heel gives a little more elevation than an ultra-low practice shoe such as JZ97, while remaining stable and manageable for prolonged training. A flexible shank allows natural articulation through the foot without making the shoe feel overly rigid.
