BL502 knows exactly what it is. The heel is low, the toe is covered and the strap is simple and secure - but So Danca has given the black upper just enough shimmer to stop it feeling sensible in the boring sense. It's a lovely balance for someone who wants to feel dressed for Ballroom without feeling overly dressed-up.

The defining feature here is the 1.5" low heel. It keeps the dancer considerably closer to the floor than a traditional 2.5" Ballroom heel, creating a more grounded and reassuring position for dancers who prioritise stability or simply don't enjoy dancing in higher heels.

That makes BL502 particularly appealing as a first Ballroom shoe, but we wouldn't restrict it to beginners. A lower heel can be equally useful for social dancers who expect to spend several hours on the floor and would rather prioritise comfort over heel height.

The closed toe adds another layer of confidence. Unlike an open Latin sandal, the front of the foot remains completely covered, while the softly rounded shape keeps the shoe looking elegant rather than heavy.

Inside, cushioned lining and a cushioned insole soften the feel underfoot. A slim adjustable strap crosses the instep to help keep the shoe securely connected to the foot without introducing a complicated fastening system.

Underneath, the full suede dance sole gives BL502 the controlled glide expected from an indoor Ballroom shoe, allowing turns and travelling movement without the grip of an ordinary street shoe.
